About Us

Darrin English has been preaching the gospel for over 25 years. Having served as Associate Pastor/Youth Pastor in three different churches since 1990. Darrin has the acute understanding of a pastor's heart to reach the lost and encourage the body of Christ with a fresh word from God.

Accepting the call of God into full time evangelism in 2003, Darrin and his family have stepped out in complete faith to launch Plain English Ministries. I Corinthians 14:8 asks, "...if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will be ready for battle?" With this being our scriptural foundation, the mission statement of Plain English Ministries is the answer to the challenge of giving "a clear word in a cluttered world."

Darrin has been featured on "JC-TV", (TBN's youth network) and has spoken extensively at youth camps, conventions, revivals, camp-meetings and music festivals around the country. He is a sought after speaker who preaches the Word of God with relevance and a powerful anointing that transcends age.

Gretchen: I am honored to be standing next to Darrin as his wife. It has been a long tough road getting to this point. I am thankful, I learned the lesson of "waiting on the Lord". His timing and plan is perfect. It is because I waited on him that I am experiencing his very best for my life. I never imagined that I would be writing you as an evangelist's wife. To tell you the truth, the first thought of it scared me to death. The Lord spoke to me saying "I don't call the qualified, I qualify the called". "I am calling you to pick up your children and leave your home in Ohio to join with the man I have for you". "I want you to serve together in ministry FOR ME". In some respects that was tough to digest, but God rained down his provision, blessing and peace. He had all the details worked out and opened every door before I walked thru them. A wise woman once told me, "God's way has all green lights". I never knew the true meaning of that until now.

I am excited for the journey of this ministry. God is doing some amazing things thru it to further his kingdom. I pray that the testimonies of what the Lord has done in my life will change the lives of others.

Tanner: is our 11yr old genius. He has a great heart,and can build and invent anything. He is always creating something to sell to his friends. God has given him the gift of leadership and of helping others. He is always taking care of his sisters, and looking out for others. His heart and mind are far wiser than his years.

Kennedi: is our 10yr old. She has a keen sense of the Holy Spirit. She is always telling us things that come to pass in time. Thru the years, we have learned to pay attention to what she says. She is a deep thinker and can speak some profound statements.

Landon: is our 9yr old who is full of energy. He has quite the imagination, and is never still. If he wasn't so cute, he would be in a lot more trouble. He has someone laughing at all times. He is caring to those around him, and likes to help with anything that is asked of him.

Tori: is our 9yr. old " Mother Hen." She is loving and nurturing. She is always taking care of something or someone. Her attitude is positive in every situation. Tori has a gift of encouragement to others. She loves to sing and pray to the Lord. She can turn on the dramatics as well, we have often said she will be our next actress. Her heart is sincere, and she loves others without condition.

Our prayer for our children, is that thru our family time and ministry they will see the wonder of God's work. We pray that as they grow and learn, they will become lights in this dark world. It is our hope that they reach others for Christ, and that they experience the very purpose God has for their lives.
